One of those days
Yesterday afternoon we were watching TV when this little cloud came up.Me and the boy went outside to put things up,and get ready for a little rain, and got pretty wet before we got done
So it's thundering a little, and looking kinda funky, and everyone is unplugging things when all the lights went bright, all the kids screaming, and the smell of burning wires is very strong.
After the fire dept left we went through the trial and error of seeing what still works after the lightning strikes the house. What a mess.I still have one computer out of three, the DVD VCR,microwave, cablebox, and various other meaningless items are non working
Man what a deal I have never been in ahouse when it was struck, and don't want to be again.Everyone is OK though so that is all that really matters
Just one of those days I guess.

Wow, quite an experience, BC! :eek
Glad you are all OK. Bummer about the electrical stuff, though.
Maybe it's covered on insurance, hopefully, though?
Makes me glad I don't like where there are many electrical storms.
Cheers
Mick

I'm glad you're okay, BC!
Where (what part of the house) did the lightning initially hit?

Kids are gonna miss the VCR and DVD, eh?
Gonna have to replace those quick before they get unruly.
Cheers

Glad I have a habit of unplugging everything when a storm's brewing. Can't afford a loss. Happened to my sis one time. A lightning stuck a power pole outside her trailer house and blew all the lit bulbs, fried a icebox, tv, and vcr. She was really scared stiff. Later she moved in with me.
