We get such crappy world news in the USA so we don't hear until like something major is over and then only a footnote or one sentence.

Argentina ?
Venezuela?
Haiti?

A--Gov't falls.
V--General strike or what ?
H--Attempted palace coup?

Or what ?

Ironic thing, is that Latin America is a major trade partner to US !

Spain's Bolsa affected due to financial ties to Latin America.

Does anybody hear about these places where you are ?

BBC is a good site. For Asian news, go to samachar.com (literal translation: samachar=news). Good portal.

While I won't say news here is biased (except the right wing FOX NEWS), the media tends to focus on areas/issues directly affecting/involving the US. Nothing else matters.

The loser is, of course, the ordinary Joe in IOWA who thinks there's nothing East of the Mississippi. But with the Net, it is getting better.
