If you are looking for a first car I would suggest a small car.
Something like a Ford Festiva, Volkswagon Fox, Geo Metro, etc.
All of these cars will get great gas mileage and the insurance for these cars will be cheap as well. All of these are reliable cars that will go the distance and can be found cheap.

Okay so that link isn't totally free, I can see what your car is tho. Still have to order for a check. IMO if you are really serious about the car. order it or take it to a mechanic to have it checked out before you pay cash for it.
Edit: I belive its for 30 days, they have a special going on right now for unlimited reports for 7.99 on all cars you want to check out as versas thier normal 19.99 fee. Just be sure to change the drop down items choice.

My advice:
Stay away from the POS cheap Fords like the Festiva and Escort, also Metro's and similar POS pocket rockets. From my HS experience, of course. If you wnat something perfectly reliable, go Honda or Toyota. There are a million of them, easy to find one cheap and great.
This is the car, right?
VIN: 1ZVBT21CXK5303908
Year: 1989
Make: Ford
Model: Probe LX
Style/Body: 2 Door Hatchback
Engine: 2.2L I-4 EFI SOHC VTEC
Country of Assembly: United States
Only thing in report that was a prob:
Odometer Problem Record(s) Found Definition:
Odometer Problem:
Vehicle had odometer related problems, including not actual miles, broken odometer, exceeds mechanical limits, mileage discrepancy, and suspect miles.
Date Reported / Odometer Reading
07/11/91 27,000
08/19/95 55,000
06/06/96 100,000
06/12/96 100,030
05/01/97 110,000
05/16/97 110,883
08/08/00 110,880
08/08/00 110,885
That's the last odometer reading in registration renewal...it shows at least that many miles, right?

Hmmm 3 years and only gained 3 miles
either it sat and rusted in a corn field somewhere.. or somebody had a little fun with it
