Guinea Pig is a common food item in some cultures and eaten here in America without incident...

Not for me, because they can carry a prion, like the one that causes Mad Cow Disease. The one they carry causes scrapie is sheep. No evidence that it can affect ppl, but I'm not taking unnecessary risks!

I'm close enough to mad without the need for prions, thanks!
