memorial service at the Net River

went to a memorial service for my nephews uncle today. it was held at the family camp on the Net River around 80 miles from here. saw some folks that i havent seen in almost 40 years.

anyway,heres a pic of the river near the camp. it has been around 35 years since i ve been to this spot,and it was as i had remembered it. just breathtaking.

it was a wonderful afternoon.

here are a couple more.

its beautiful country,away from any noise whatsoever. only thing i could hear was an occasional bird or squirrel,maybe a crow.
the only people you see are,well,i cant recall ever seeing anyone else other than who i went there with.

the interior camp pic shows the superior construction techniques and great insulation in the walls. was built in 1948. the boots hanging there have been there since who knows when. one of the owners said"dunno whose they are,leave em here. maybe that person will come back and get em" they have been there over 40 years.

it was a rather cool service. there is a large quartz rock out in the forest close to camp. buried around that rock are the ashes of(after yesterday) 3 people.
