Hi. I just recently started up a web design buisness. Any ideas on how to advertise/get the word out for free?

Letterbox drop local small businesses.

Put up posters on local notice boards.

Find a local trade mag and see if they are doing a feature on websites, soon. You may get a plug if ya put dibs in.

Targeted advertising would be most effective. Select who your likley customers would be (ie research local small businesses to see who is online, who is not), then doorknock or post them material.

Legwork is the best way to get results locally.

We may call 'em patients instead of clients, but we still need to bring 'em in and meet their expectations.

Well, Mick, all I can say is that if I had a buncha bucks, I would fly you over here and get you set up as a media arranger, and I'd be your very first client. It's obvious you have the 'touch'.

PR is a quantity that totally escapes me (hell, I can't even remember people's names, for some reason.)

Buisness cards you can make those yourself for basically 0,plus show off your work in the process.Leave one everywhere you happen to stop that has a counter, even by accident if necessary

Somew places will let you leave a batch by the register.
