Now that we can't find them, lets not mention them...
...even though we couldn't find them in the past, and mentioned them. Quote: |
DEARBORN, Mich. (Reuters) - Weapons of mass destruction have proven hard to find in Iraq and now they've disappeared from President Bush's speeches.
| Quote: |
Before the U.S.-led invasion and during the war's early stages, Bush speeches were peppered with references to weapons of mass destruction and the specter of apocalyptic havoc that chemical and biological arms might wreak on the United States, its friends and allies. He used the words so much that sometimes they became simply "WMD."

And this surprises anyone other than a GW supporter how?
WMD = Wanton Misdirection & Deception ?
And before anyone here calls me a Democrat, liberal, or any other term meant in a slanderous way, let me state that I have no problem with the fact that we went to war to kick Saddam's arse, in fact he more than had it coming. I just don't like the pretenses we were fed to sell the cause for war.
Had GW just come right out and said ...."these are my reasons - 1. He tried to have my dad killed, 2. He kills hundreds of thousands of his own countrymen 3. He perpetuates and instigates violations of basic human rights, etc"... I would have still whole heartedly supported removal of that P.I.T.A dictator in Iraq through force by the U.S. and any other country that had the guts to go along with us.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a brother (airborne ranger) to welcome home from a 12+ month tour of Iraq and Afghanistan. Luckily for my family, he's coming home alive. Some others weren't so lucky.

Target, how about posting your brother's views. It would be great to hear them.
The enemy opposition knows the achillies heel of America is the weak stomach for casualties and our tendancy to cut and run when the heat from the press gets too hot. The constant drip, drip, drip of killings is a constant reminder that Saddam's boys are students of history, also.
My personal view is most areas of Iraq are pretty well "pacified" and are American-friendly. Saddam's strong holds are where the problems are, and the one-a-day killings are part of the plan of waiting out the Americans.

Do you blame him for not talking about them anymore? If we find them then he will be talk about how he knew they were there in every speech.
(BTW - Dearborn is a decent town. )

Right on target, Target! I'm with you 100%. (Well, maybe 99%. I think it would be wise to move "He tried to kill my dad" out of the #1 spot.)

I'll see what, if anything, my brother wants to share from his experiences there so far Chuckie. He's only slated for a 30 day break, then its back to the middle east (or at least thats what his C.O. has stated are the plans so far for his unit).
Pexster: The order of GW's reasons is subject to interpretation and rearrangement.
