Kids sending letters overseas...

ok... I need to send a letter to someone in Sweden...
How do I do it?
I've got their address, but is it regular postage or extra postage or what??

I've never done this before, any help is appreciated!

Well, I'm not in the US, but when I want to send a letter overseas, I either buy a pre-paid airmail envelope (from the post office), or take my standard envelope letter to the post-office.

Either way, a quick visit to your local post office would fix ya up.

It will cost more than regular within-US postage, and depends whether you want airmail (quicker) or surface mail.

Cheers
Mick

ok, i wasn't really sure if it needed a special envelope or anything like that... I'm clueless.
I guess I'll just have to go to the post office and do it that way... eh, they're always PACKED full of people every time I go.

No it is not regular postage.
You'll have to go to the post office to see how much it costs.. it varies from country to country...

btw Send AIR MAIL
I sent a card about 3 years ago to a friend in Aus by ground... and it still hasnt' gotten there

Its not that much more to send by air anyways

If its just a letter it will probably only be about 50 cents to maybe a dollar.

Yeah go to the post office. I know that it costs me $0.80 to send a letter to the UK.
You may be able to even call and just stick a bunch of stamps on the envelope. (I wouldn't really recommend that though. )

www.usps.com
you can figure your rates pretty close there.

More specific:

http://ircalc.usps.gov/

I have shipped stuff to Oz and they are the cheapest by a good margin. Your options range from pay thru the nose and have it there tomorrow, to "slow but cheap".
