Reality TV

Hi everybody!

Until recently, I watched really only 3 or 4 things on tv: history channel, news, sports and Seinfeld. Recently, my wife has gotten into the whole reality TV stuff (that's right- blame it on her ) and I must admit that I've gotten into it as well. It's kind of funny too, because we see an advertisement for one and say "oh, THAT one's SO stupid!" as we turn back to "For Love or Money".

Are you hooked?
Which is your favorite?

Ours is definitely "Joe Millionaire". We thought that one was the best by far!

Have a good one,
Dave

I avoid TV like the plague. MY TV is primarily used to watch Jeopardy, play PS2 games and find out if there is traffic going into the Lincoln Tunnel. Oh and late night cartoons/scifi shows. TV is the devil... the bad devil, not the good one like my father.

My favorite ones are the whole "drawing out the gold-digger by letting them think the man has a lot of money" shows like Joe Millionaire and "For Love or Money" (1st season only).

And I like old staples like Survivor and Big Brother (USA).

Oh, and those celebrity look-alike shows! That one on the WB with Ben & JLo, and Britney & Justin was awesome!

"Reality TV"?

Like watching congress do nothing live 24/7 while the cameras are there?

Seriously, the "Reality" shows are to me just a joke. They amount to musical chairs for TV.

Give me plot, writing, entertainment. Or real up to date, un-biased news. Anything but the watered down pap that has been the standard of american TV these last twenty some years.

theres nothing wrong with that....its just boring during the roll call. If you get into it, it can be quite interesting. C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2, what would the world be without them?

Nope I'm not hooked, I hate reality TV and I hate the direction TV broadcasting is taking in general, it's become so superficial, fewer documentaries or educational programs, more 'reality' crap, star search shows and pure entertainment, I hardly watch TV because of this and when I do it's either news or documentaries, occasionally ill watch a movie, but I only watch TV for about 3-4 hours a week.

Reality TV is like collective voyeurism IMO

Rowing alongside CM on this one (same boat that is).

I'll watch a few new sitcoms (70's show, malcom, bernie mac)... but other than that give me cosby sienfeld and the like and I am happy. I am big on PBS, DISC, TLC and the like.

I hate reality TV completely. I refuse to watch it. The rest of my family got hooked on American Idol and now the watch canadian Idol. I simply go on the comp when theses shows are on. Some of my favourite shows though are: Friends, seinfeld, Fraiser, CSI, (not miami), And all the trek serieseseses.
