Clinton cuts legs off of liberal Bush Bashers.

Well perhaps I had the guy all wrong. I thought he was without a moral bone in his body. Apparently he has some guts and stands for what he feels is right.

To paraphrase his call to larry king

We could not take the risk of inaction.

We should have gone to the UN and we did.

If saddam resisted we should have taken action.

and at best Bush's 16 words were a mistake to use but factual.

Holy crap.

He did not need to take this action and it definitely would have been better for the party if he had not. Yet he stood up for what was right and basically absolved Bush's actions.

I thought he was completely partisan but apparently he does have ethics on occasion.

The controversy he was in may as well be the only reason he didn't do what Bush did.

I mean personally you have to believe the guy.

If a political enemy says that they would have done the same thing rather than bashing them you have to believe them.

If you enemy says something positive about you there is credibility even if the enemy is known to be a liar. Unless you can trace some benefit to them (motive as it were)

So you believe Clinton when he says something you like; otherwise not -- right? You don't think he's just covering his backside from the historians?

No, of course not.

I think that anyone responsible for looking after the best interests of the United States would have been seriously deficient if they had not taken action against Saddam given the information that was available at that time. I am still surprised to see him admit that Bush made the right decision. I have at least a little more respect for him now. It's too bad that more politicians don't say what they actually think instead optimizing their comments to inflict the greatest possible amount of damage on their opponents.

And yes, I realize that this happens on both sides of the political isle

He need to weaken the front runners who are all jumping in on "the 16 words". He can't let them have a remote chance to win. Hillary has to run in 2008, not 2004!

Clinton didn't suddenly grow a moral compass!
