At work (I am the lead tech consultant) we just purchased about $750,000 USD of IBM RS6000 P-series with AIX equipment and spent $40,000 on knowledge transfer and all I asked them was for a IBM shirt.
Yeah.. it really does suck.. we are trying to work with AIX as we are primarly a I386 shop. and then I hear this afternoon in our office:
"oh a warning label" then he points to the "Intel Inside" label on the box of new Panasonic CF-28 laptops that come in.. (acutally kind of funny) but geesh IBM cough up the $20 shirt buddies.
Back when my company did the 1996 Summer Olympics, IBM asked us to put pieces of tape over the Toshiba logo on our company laptops because they (IBM) were the official PC suppliers.
something seriously wrong with this picture. one company lets you have their software free and gives away shirts and the other charges you heaps and doesn't :P
