tKoP, no overclocking yet. I prefer to run new rigs at the stock speed for a little while then down the road overclock it so I get that "free upgrade" experience.
So far, the onboard NIC and sound both are great. The 5.1 sound seems every bit as good as my SBLive 5.1, in fact better. It has 2 SPDIF connections (input/output) and 2 in/out optical connections (whatever they are) plus the normal speaker connections for surround sound, plus line in, line out, & mic.
Using that onboard stuff has allowed me to dump 2 PCI cards from the setup. Only cards I have left are the AGP video card and a PCI TV-card. That also give the system lots of breathing room for good air flow.
Got
6 USB ports. 2 in the rear and 4 in the front. Also got some kind of "smart card" reader...and I don't even know what a smart card is.

Kuasimodem: It's a Ghz. Actually it's from the The Overclockerz Store (which I guess is now defunct) and it's a 900Mhz that has been soldered to 1Ghz. It was guaranteed to run at the overclocked speed (1Ghz) with no problems, and sure enough it's run like a champ for well over a year.
But don't go salivating over it just yet a buddy of mine has already called dibs on it (& I owe him) so that's probably where it'll go. However....
...having said that. I know he just plans on building a machine that he's gonna use at work for some pretty simple stuff (record keeping, database, & such). I'd bet I could easily talk him into using a 500mhz CPU if you want to swap...well, swap plus whatever you want to throw in to even out the trade.

Email me & we can discuss it. But
remember I promised it to my friend already, so this all depends on whether I can talk him into using a lesser CPU (I'm thinking I can). What would your brother mainly use it for? Is he a gamer? I'd probably fight a little harder for him if I knew he was really going to appreciate the extra mhz. That's also exactly why I don't want to let my buddy have it, because it won't get used to even a quarter of it's potential.
