I just was viewing a thread where someone had put the word thanks in caps, and someone reponded that it was rude. I understand that it is like shouting. I accepted it as an expression much thanks. I quess I'm out of touch with "forum decorum". I recently responded to a thread with color to express my anger. Why is this acceptable, as no one remarked about the color, and caps are not??

Unfortunately - this can be a cold medium - we lose all our ability to enhance communication wiht our body language - Now being a guy with the 'neticon' smarts of a neanderthal cromagna. I don't know what I have said in 'neticon' - I just know what I meant to say - If I mess it up - I always try to go back and explain it better.

I am a minimalist - and given that I usually don't include enough of anything to make sure you understand me concisely the first time, I expect others to realize that I am not rude - I just don't understand 'netiqute' and expect to be forgiven!

for what its worst - I figure the OWO's [ Old Wise Ones ] will agree with that

I think it's okay to say THANKS but it's not okay to WRITE THE VAST MAJORITY OF ONE'S MESSAGE IN CAPS, as that is definitely viewed as shouting.

It seems that your missing my point. If I use all caps, I'm shouting. But if I use a color to get my point across , it's ok.
