Presidential Spam?
[Rant] Out of no where it seems, I am now recieving unwanted emails from a Bush Cheney 2004 site full of jibberish and asking me if I want to donate, this guy is filthy rich and now he's asking a 16 year old kid for money? it's not like they don't know who I am... The donation is halfway filled out with my full name and e-mail address, I have to say that I think this is crap, Bush tries to cut off telemarketers and phone spam, then goes on his own rampage with internet spam asking for donations... here's the site... I personally would not like to see this putz's face plastered in my e-mail... [/Rant]

I have gotten several letters from them in the mail as well. What's odd is the fact that it's in my name instead of my dad's name. They normally want me to give them a donation so I can become a member to something and they'll even send me a neat ID card.  | |

Scam site. Gotta be. 
The sad part is, the slimy bastards will probably get rich as hell. They'll donate 1 or 2 percent of their take to keep it legal and pocket the rest. There's probably millions of fools in this country who will fall for this.

Hmm. Something doesn't add up. This site is registered to a Mark Walters. I wonder if it's the same Mark Walters who posted this?

Most likely the result of visiting an some political website. I hate unsolicited mail... it doesn't matter who it comes from. 
If you turn up your security for ActiveX and JavaScript or install a firewall, you can prevent some of this activity by unscrupulous webmasters.

If you WHOIS the domain and Google the guy's name and hometown, you'll get an email address.

From what I can see, the site looks legitimate. There's certainly nothing wrong with Bush-Cheney '04 Inc. having an official website, nor with them asking for donations. It's the site(s) that are harvesting and selling email addresses that we should be trying to locate. (unless of course hawkeye signed up for campaign updates on the Bush-Cheney website  )

| No way. If it is a scam, then all the money donated there is money that won't be going to Bush. If it is legit, I don't want to give them any more free publicity.
