Have you ever gotten drunk while alone?

I always drink beer when I'm fixing my computer. Today, up till now, I've been making a computer out of bits and pieces for a few hours now (didn't work so I had to do it a few times) and I noticed that I drank 7 beers in the process. Right now I'm all dizzy and I can't walk very good. I'm all alone because the room mate's having a guy's night out so I'm sort of thinkin why the hell am I drunk when I'm alone, this just can't be right.

Any of you guys ever got drunk alone?

Well what happens if you get drunk and then come home and you're by yourself? I know quite a few people that go to a pub/bar for a while and then go home to finish off the night with a few more beers.

some say drinking by yourself leads to alcoholism, but I say nay.

I don't mean finishing off the night alone, I mean STARTING the night alone lol.

Maybe I should go workout before I sober up. I have much more strength when drunk. Would you believe I can do 15 chinups when drunk?

Well anything can lead to alcoholism anyway. As long as you're not going to do anything too stupid on your own, I say enjoy yourself.

The only ones who say that though are ones that think if you take a drink more than once a year you're an alcoholic

It's all perspective, Mr Telexen. Speaking of which, have you ever noticed that our name is Mr T?

Anyway, about perspective, Ned Flanders from The Simpsons attends AA meetings although his last drink was like 8 years ago (I think it was like 8 years) and he claims he was more beast than man because he said Anne Landers was a boring old bitty. A few of my friends have that holier than thou attitude. I've been questioned numberous time as to why I drink when fixing my puter. One of my friend was so crazy as to say it might impair my ability to fix the computer, yet all my computers work fantabulous. So much for that theory

Its more in how often you get drunk period, then who you do it with...
The partiers and binge drinkers rarely drink alone.. they got 5-10 drinking friends all around them at all times.

Its a bit of a touchy subject with me (no I'm not nor have I ever been an alcoholic, but it has deeply effected my life). I'll have a drink on occasion, but see no real purpose in getting drunk.

Reality really isn't all that horrible that you have to run away from it

It is not about escaping the horror of reality. It is about venting stress and having fun. When drunk around friends, you can usualy vent steam or things that have been bothering you and your friends will always dismit as "oh he's drunk he doesn't know what he's talking about". As for fun, that is hard to explain why because I can't see the enjoyment when thinking rationaly. But of course it's not about ratonality so I don't exactly know.

Oh please. Getting hammered is not worthy of some deep introspective that makes sound like a religious experience or something. It's just catching a buzz. That's all. It's fun and can be enjoyable, that's why it's done. If you're smart enough, and don't kill too many brain cells along the way, then eventually you'll get bored with it. So enjoy it now while it's still fun.
