Did President Bush knowingly lead us astray?

Quote:
"The president did not knowingly say anything that we knew to be false," said National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice on Friday

This is not a Five and Dime Store where something went unwittingly wrong.

As President of the most powerful nation in the world, you don't take life-and death decisions like invading a country, committing billions for the war and aftermath not to say the deaths of hundreds of enlisted men based on bad data.

The buck stops at the president to paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt.

Bush can't pass the buck to the CIA or make someone else the Fall Guy.

If its his fault, he ought to say so.

Up front.

To all people.

And apologize.

So we can get on.

Digging in his heels only escalates the issue.

Just my thoughts.

Right now I really don't know what to think. The CIA cleared Bush and his speech, but isn't the U.S. Government telling us NOT to believe the British government?

I could easily believe Bush could lie to the country about this. Why?
1) Nothing better than flexing muscles at the world.

2) The Oil in Iraq is such a nice thing to have in your possession.

I just hope that he DIDN'T take so many people away from their families' and homes' just so he could pocket some money.
