Interesting read. But I dare say, with all due respect to Jefferson, he wouldn't have a clue what to do today. The world has grown exponentially in complexity since his day. The entire poplulation of the US in Jefferson's time wouldn't fill a decent sized city today. Jefferson, in his worst nightmare, couldn't have imagined the horrors of 9/11.
I have nothing but awe and respect for the Founding Fathers and their wisdom. But the world isn't as simple as it used to be. The key to survival of the Constitutional principles is intelligent adaptation, not the idiotic amendment proposals we've seen lately. Of course one person's brainstorm is another person's brain fart. So who knows.
