What we do know

It is impossible to say what discoveries the future will bring (a fact which, incidentally, makes the Democratic strategy quite risky) but it is useful to refocus attention on what we know—not what we thought we knew, or what we think today, but what is known beyond serious dispute.

But there is no dispute on all this. The moot point is whether Bush was less than 100% honest personally.

At that level, as not only President but C-in-C of the Armed Forces, Bush owes it to the world, his nation and to the Armed Forces to come clean.

At best he would be guilty of poor judgement and at worst, well, of deception.

[sarcasm mode]And whose job was it to declare war? Last time I looked at the constitution the president was a bit limited there[/sarcasm mode]

Seriously, why is everyone knockinf the pres for such a f'up? So he made a mistake/lied/told a half-truth/was given bad information that he repeated. So what? It's not his job to delcare war! It should be Congress that's under scrutany. Yeah, so Congress didn't say what Bush said. It's their job to verify these claims and think rationally before going to war.

Me, I would have tried to goto war if I were Bush, but I wouldn't have sold it on nukes. Violation of the Gulf-War treaty (whatever it's called) and being an Evil Dictator (tm) is enough. The Iraqis are generally pretty happy we kocked off Saddam (who we were after in the first place), except for the loyalists and the old officials (it's alot like Germany at the end of WWII).

I appoligize for potentially getting into a flame war for this, but I've read WAYYY to much stuff saying the Pres is a lair, a cheat, a pedophile, an evil Nazi Facist Womanizing Pig (tm), and other such stuff; and quite frankly it's getting on my damn nerves. If I was being called half the stuff he is being called I would have gone mad and probably started the Civil War II by now. Good god. So go ahead! Let's impeach him! I don't like the man much as president anyway! So who do you propose we replace him with? Dick Chenny? You don't like him much either, do you? Al Gore? Al Sharpton? McCain? (actually, that wouldn't be too bad)

There isn't a politician I can think of that would make a good president that want to be president. Ugh, I'm not in any shape to go on. I made my argument, and now I will NOT post anything more on my opinions as far as Bush and the mess in Iraq goes.
