Kids Conspiracy Theory Fodder

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/South/07/....ap/index.html

One of the Marines involved in the Jessica Lynch incident was killed in an accident.

What happened to the whole Lynch story? No Dateline piece, 60 Minutes expose, ticker tape parade? It disappeared.

Feel free to theorize. I'm not promoting a conspiracy, but the lack of media follow up is uncharacteristic.

It's the "liberal media" again not wanting to expose the Bush admin...oh, wait. That can't be right.

I suppose it could be that it hasn't been reported because there's no real story there to report. Right now I'm so distrustful of the media I don't know what to believe.

Could be several reasons....

Perhaps she is still recovering from her wounds.

Maybe in a modest fashion she has declined any recognition for doing her job as a soldier.

Could be that the media knows this tale (once told further, and if the initial reports are correct) would make for a great story and they are saving it. Right now there is still plenty of other stories to be told that are more time sensitive in nature as the war is not truely over. The Jessica rescue story might be more benefitial to networks and media organizations if it was slickly produced and released in time for the new fall season.

Might also be that initial reports about the rescue were grossly exaggerated, and that the rescue was really nothing more than finding the hospital she was at and going to pick her up. Not exactly anything extra ordinary to report in that unless you wish to further exaggerate a routine mission.

There are a ton of possible reasons.

1) Jessica Lynch was a Pentagon-made drama to make the Marines look good. Cheap way of doing it.

2) Reminds me of the number of people who suddenly died when Clinton was President, including Ron Brown who apparently had two bullets in the head when they recovered the body from the air crash.

I'd guess and say this Marine probably talked too much. It got back to Rumsfeld who ordered his errr.....accident.

Remember this is a totally immoral and corrupt administration, no better than Clinton's. I am not at all surprised.

There were a lot of posts here some months ago with linkages to BBC reports about the Pentagon getting caught with its pants down doing such amateurish stunts.

Guess it'll all come out eventually.

The media save a good story? And take the chance that it might be worth zip in a month's time?

You get your newscasts by direct cable from Bizarro World, right?
