Got stuck in the house this afternoon and was watching the Cleveland Grand Prix---during a commercial I came by Apocalypse Now just starting---it was the redo (redux?) version put together in 2001 with added scenes---I saw the movie almost 25 years ago when it came out---I dont see many movies and have seen almost nothing new (to speak of) in 15-20 years---
This was so intense I was glued in my well worn LazyBoy for 4 hours---I followed along with an excellent well written 10-12 page review gaining insight to things relevant in the movie I missed---

IF you have never seen this movie ---do so---if you saw it 25 years ago like me, check out the redux version...
A documentary about the film's chaotic making, shot in part by Coppola's wife Eleanor and including interviews with most of the cast and crew, was titled Hearts of Darkness: A Film-maker's Apocalypse (1991)---I saw this a few years ago as well---documents the 17 week shoot that lasted 16 months...
Great stuff...
