Make huge magnifying glasses of them??

If you are in a cold region(PA right?), Add water to them, set them on the floor next to your windows, they will act like a heat sink for the sunlight, the water will get very warm and continue to add heat to your room in the evening/night.

As a coin collection point, Simply place them close to the traffic areas with signs saying what the charity is for. People just drop their money into them.

Cut the top off and use as planter, or dog/cat waterer.

Use one of them as a drum.

Well where I live the popular thing to do this 4th of July was to seal piccolo petes in 2 litre soda bottles and practically blow the neighbors windows out---(pretty impressive, very dangerous) maybe you could gang connect 50 picpetes together and have the mother of all 4th of July bombs next year...

(Oh yeah---make sure you stand back a couple feet if you try this)

Edit---> im thinkin you are talkin about the 5 gallon plastic bottles that sit on top of a water cooler?
(If not---please disregard my silly comment)

Its an inexpensive firework that whistles from a high to a lower pitch and shoots some funky flame---we used to squeeze em in a vice to concentrate the powder and add a BAMMM!!! to the end---the kids are alot smarter then we were 35 years ago and have created a very cheap "bomb" thats equal to about 5 M-80's bein blown off at once...

Piccolo Petes are known as a "safe and sane" firework here---add a soda bottle and you have an INTENSE bomb...

I once saw a guy doing Japanese-style drumming on Santa Monica's 3rd Street a coupla times---he had a couple of 18" oak battens, and man....he didn't "fix" the bottle anywhere, he just dropped that thing into the street and WAILED on it! It was really impressive, and he was getting quite a variety of different sounds, as well.

Best use of one of them things I ever saw.

Can't you send them back to the company and get them recycled?!?!

If not, definitely cut them at different areas and make a drum set. Cut the tops to various diameters for cymbals.
