Bondo question

Anybody know what the active ingredient in the cream hardener is? I just mixed some bondo(duraglass) with liquid MEKP and it didn't harden. I thought it would work but it didn't. It's a few years old so I guess that could be the problem

As a matter of fact, I have just purchased a BIG tube to start working on my 72 El Camino SS. The ingrediants are as follow.


Bondo # 928

Benzoyl peroxide ( 94-36-0 )
Water
Plastcizer ( 131298-44-7 )
Surfacant
Iron exide ( 1309-37-1 )

Thanks pickel I guess that would explain why it didn't work. Guess I'm off to the auto parts store tomorrow..

Yeah, man. That Benzoyl evaporate quickly and loses it's properties. I have mucho work ahead of me . After twenty years of neglect , you can imagine !!!

I wish I had the time to do another project car. It's very gratifying to turn a hunk of junk into a work of art. Be sure to post pictures when you get it done

The body is not really that bad, but the bed is a DISASTER !!!!
Going to have to cut a plate out of 1/8- 3/16 steel and use undercoating to fix it to the original to stop the rusting then go over it with spray liner after fixing all the other holes. I'm not looking forward to it but it has to be done.
