Very cool, but a little worrisome. That gives EVERYBODY access to supercomputer-like power. Think what that could be used for in the wrong hands. Not to mention the inherent lack of privacy of such a system. Still, it'll be interesting to see how it develops.

It's definitely an interesting concept. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out in the long run.

After being on dail up on a K-6 350, I'm satisfied with my P 4 and DSL. One virus or trojan would bring down the whole works...

as far as a "supercomputer," about a month ago "PC Upgrade" mag had a cover story about how you can build a supercomputer with a Linux configuration. They put 3 3ghz comps together to make a 9ghz beast. Not bad. As far as the "grid" being the next internet, they should call it "the wired," for any of you anime fans who have seen Serial Experiments Lain. I'll be glad when I can just get a chip put in my brain so I can wireless connect to the internet with my thoughts. We don't even need a chip, we can just emit a certain frequency and our brain waves can connect through it, awakening a new level of connected consciousness. Isn't that about how it goes in Lain?
