Detroit Red Wings
Wow, signing up their guys with sweet deals. They picked up the option to have "The Dominator" possibly returning to the net. What they gonna do with Hasek and Cujo, who knows? McCarty signed as with some others. Still waiting for Federov and Yzerman(?) but they will probably work it out.....
note to Federov, quit crashing your Ferrari's.....
...now if we could just get Scotty Bowman a little closer to the ice, apparently he's been at most practices and most games and just hangs around. Such a class guy!!!!

Fedorov's gone officially...I say thanks for everything, but don't let the door hit you on the way out. Now, if we can go nab Paul Kariya, it's all good
BTW, am I the only one who thinks that getting Darian Hatcher is a mistake? Like we need ANOTHER defenseman, we have too many

It'd be great to have a Cup this year coming up from these guys. It's wierd that two guys in LA are RW fans, but my first game when I was a kid was a RW game in Detroit.

Hatcher is a guy everyone hates when you play against him but love when hes on your team. Hes rough, tough, and has a mean streak any wolverine (animal) would admire. I think the Wings will be heading towards a defensive game this year so they can use all the ugly defensmen they can get.
As far as Federov goes, well screw him. His ego is out of control and when he leaves for a team and a city that doesnt care about his beloved sport as much as Detroit does, well he'll come crying back. He's one of the best centers in the game, hardly anyone can do what he does, offensivly and defensivly. However we can find people to fill his spot. Let him try and find repect and a cup somewhere else.

I would say he is one of the most talented players in the NHL, but he has not lived up to his potential. He could be like Bure and be a scoring machine, but his ego keeps tripping him up. I am sad to see his talent leave the RWs, but not the ego.
Hatcher is a good addition. I just wish they'd pick up some speed (Kariya) to offset the loss of Federov.

This offseason has been kind of odd for many of the big teams in the NHL.
Fedorov is officially gone, eh? That's a shame because he was a damn good player.
Hasek returning? All I have to say is that I hope he hasn't lost his touch.
Well that's not a very good link to see WW.

16 Mil is too much for two goalies.
Cujo is a fine goalie... maybe not as great as Hasek... but I can think of many worse than him.
Cujo has a "no-trade" clause.
Hasek wants another championship???? Naaaaa... what would you rather do, Chill out in Czech Republic, or come to America for $8 million. hmmmmmmmmmmmm? Plus his clothing line (?) hasn't done as well as he thought it would.
At 39 he was in the twilight of his career. His skills are near their expiration date.
If they didn't exercise their option to sign him, he could wind up somewhere like Colorado. That would be baaaaaaaad.
All those reasons are better then the couple reasons to bring him back.
A. He "was" great
B. He won them a championship.
Send him way out East for the best deal you can get for him. Somewhere like Carolina would be great.
