Clarence Thomas may have considered the Texas sodomy law "...uncommonly silly";

He also said, "If I were a member of the Texas Legislature, I would vote to repeal it."

Had he been a member, though, Guess Who Boldly promised to veto such a repeal if he were elected Governor?

From the Austin (TX) American-Statesman, January 22, 1994:
Quote:
Gubernatorial candidate George W. Bush on Friday promised he would veto any attempt by the Texas Legislature to remove from the state penal code a controversial statute outlawing homosexual sodomy.

Bush, a Republican, was asked about the sodomy statute shortly after speaking to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxilary.

"I think it's a symbolic gesture of traditional values," he said.

The quote speaks for itself. Glad I didn't vote for him.
