T.S. Bill is coming to visit...

Here we go again. right now 130 miles s of Morgan City. This storm may or may not strengthen to hurricane status before landfall, likely sometime later today. The rain is already turning on and off.

Thank goodness I just got my roof fixed last week!!! We should be getting 3 to 10 inches of rain and possibly more by being on the 'wet' side of the storm.

Our rainfall is about to hit a record for the wettest month on record. I love the rain and all, but these storms can get real 'hairy'. It'll be great if we don't lose power!!!

Wish us luck today..... it's going to be interesting and WET!!!!!

Good luck and I hope you keep your power. I know about those hairy storms! I used to live on the coast of florida. (I had a dock)
But I swear I was south of DC Friday and looked outside and it looked like a hurricane! Rain so hard you couldn't see 10 feet and trees bent way over from the wind! Weird.

Thanks Surreal! Our weird thing today is no sunrise...oh wait, it's suppose to be in about 10 minutes.... I love the sunrise!!! Gotta go and check it out with a cup of hot coffee.....

update for those interested....

the center of the storm is almost on land. it slowed down and seemed to move a bit east (towards N.O.). latest info has it just heading north then veering to the ne.

kinda interesting that a tornado is heading nw towards us and the center of the storm heading ne towards us too.....(tornado 40 miles away so it likely will dissapate)

it's a lovely rain right now and has been raining for hours. news says there is no end in sight. I can go get sandbags but it isn't too bad. the nice thing is that there is practically no wind, so no big time tree or power problems. if this keeps up, we'll just end up real wet.....

(sunrise was sorta like barely turning on a dimmer switch, kinda eerie...)

lol...think I need the wood to build a boat!!

the rain has not stopped since about 1am...

the ditches are overflowing, some roads closed. Approx 8-12 inches here...

the wind is picking up, strong hard gusts, getting serious brownouts now...

the rain is pounding-slamming into the ground.

WITHIN the next hour, the eye will be passing over. This is something I've never experienced!!!!

The storm surge up to 5' is expected soon. I live about a mile from the lake and when the water pushes into the bayous it makes it tough to drain the ditches.

We are under flash flood warnings, tornado watch.

50 mph winds expected soon so it's gonna be interesting.......

Ahh the power of Mother Nature!!!!!!

I got 4 large trees that are close (40' or so), I think they'll be ok....

lightening up a bit now......

they are getting battered alot worse to the east of us in Ms & Al...

more later.......

I hope everything goes well down there. We are getting some of the rain, it appears, but we shouldn't get anything near what you get.
