It's not easy being green? -today's kiln yield

(for those who didn't know -ceramics is one of my non-computer hobbies)

06-29-03 I opened the kiln today and was very pleased with a 100% successful yield. These pictures don't do justice to the pieces, but here goes (sorry modem users):

vass0922 -it's both sides of the same bowl; inside on the left and bottom on the right. I only wish the subtle beauty of the pale blue celedon glaze was visible.

Nice stuff, CMonster!

A mate of mine's dad did a lot of pottery work as a hobby (he was a mechanic with his own shop). I've got quite a few very nice pieces he gave me over the years. He also did special little cups for both all of his kid's weddings as presents for the guests.

Love the colors - bet they look a lot better in real life!

Cheers
Mick

wow... I took ceramics at my school. I made a few pots, I just started double walled pots as the year came to an end. I like ceramics alot, it's so relaxing sometimes.

You did alot better then I did... How long have you been into ceramics?

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing that nice pic. Can I ask what the pottery is setting on, looks like cement cubes designed as a border. Haven't seen those commercially, kinda cool.....

Sweet -they are 400lb cement cube borders, individually cast. The plastic forms that the cubes are cast in are made from old "bucket truck" bucket liners -these are the heavy plastic electrically insulating liners that are used in the manlift buckets that carry electrical distribution mechanics up to the power lines.
