The rich got richer as their tax rates fell in 2000

The tax cut this year gave them even less to pay taxes for.

Many people keep saying that we shold tax the rich people less. I think they need to be taxed more to even out the disparaty between the rich and poor.

I've been trying to explain this point to Distinguished Member Epidemic but he insists that it is a fallacy.

I've been trying to convince him since October 2001 and got no where.

But this link clearly gives details and numbers showing how the rich will get even richer.

But then Bush has always been pro-rich, pro-big business while paying lip-service to the middle class. His total disregard for this largest group of taxpayers is the only reason I feel he face an uphill task during the next elections. With the opposition in a disarray and totally fragmented, it would take sheer effort for an incumbent President to lose.

But Bush may just do it if he carries on with his Terrorism Theme.

From what I hear Bush is going on a major fundraising run here shortly.. I'm sure the big biz's will be throwing money at him left and right to keep him in office.

He expects to raise $5 million in NYC from a dinner.

But they said to come after eating because no dinner will be actually served.

Its $2,000 a head.

Of course the rich got richer. the tax break was across the board.

would you have had the government keep tax rates at same level or raise em on the rich and then give the proceeds to the poor.

"hey you only payed 2 dollars in taxes last year here is 20,000 bucks in your return"

Is that what you would consider fair?

As for who I am going to vote for. Hmmm the guy who returned a few thousand bucks to me and my family might get my vote.

lets see Democrats consider me rich with my 60,000 family income as such I would not have seen any tax relief. Under bush who does not consider me rich I received 300 buck check last go round and reduction in tax rate and I am due to get 1200 back at least in this go round.

Lets compare 0 dollars.

or for my family a vacation in florida every year, or perhaps a couple of new guns, or perhaps upgrading my car with a downpayment.

I will give gates his 5 million or 10 million he is due for his 2% break. At least I now have some cash to play with as well as all the other rich people making more than 26,000 bucks a year.

See what I mean. The Duke just doesn't get it.
