I'm pissed...

I'm trying to get a job at a place here that does DirectTV tech support...simple job that pays very well.

I called almost two weeks ago asking for an appointment...I was told their appointment schedule was full and I should call back the coming Thursday starting at 8:00am to setup one. So I called, nobody answered so I left a message...twice, and I went to sleep. They called two hours after I called them, wanting to setup an appointment...but I was asleep. Called them back when I woke up and was told the schedule was full, and to call back Thursday starting at 8am.

Today is Thursday...I called at 8:05am, and again at 8:35am. So I think no big deal that they haven't called yet. I start talking to my friend that lives across town on ICQ, and he says he called them around 8:10am and got a call back 1 minute later, and setup an appointment.

Those bastards! Here it is 45 minutes after I called, and 15 minutes after a second call, and they haven't called me back.

Qualifications for this job:
Be able to type 25wpm
HS Diploma or GED required
Computer/Customer Service Experience knowledge preffered

I type just under 100wpm...I have a diploma...compuer/customer service exprience - what else is this forum good for?

If you really want the job Tele, why not pay a friendly visit to their offices to set up an appointment in person rather than playing phone tag?

Or, (if you must phone) next time you leave a message for them, state exactly what it is you are wanting to accomplish (getting an interview/appt). Tell them in the message that if they are willing to simply make one for you and call you back with both the time and date you need to show up, you would appreciate it.

that bites man. Sorry, like Target said though go in person to set it up. If that doesn't work buy some camo equipment and come in undercover of darkness. Us a grappling hook to climb to one of the upper windows and use glass cutting equipment to get in. Now sneak down stairs (you may want to practice moving very slowly at home so that when you are there you can sneak past securit equipment). Now simply put yourself on the list and erase any serious sounding contenders and your good to go

Hey tele if they have a web page go there and fill out an app. and then call them.
beleive it or not you may be over qualified I have had that problem a number of times so i only put down a little more then what they were asking for.

25 wpm???? my cats could type that fast. When they were alive. Not much for requirements. What does the job pay???

Hey, I type pretty decent for someone who took a typing class in 10th grade ( that was over a decade ago )...

According to the official log at the end of my sessions playing "the Typing of the Dead" I'm a steady 24 wpm.
