CARFAX this car's VIN
JN1FU21P8NX880520
check that out at carfax for me somebody... i know that its pretty crappy of me for not paying the company myself to check it, but i don't have a credit card, nor do i have the patience to fill out all the forms and crap. it has 3 "listings" on it, and i want to know if this thing is a reported lemon, theft, or worse.
i just want to know if this thing is worth buying, my poor car just broke down, and no doubt it is cheaper to buy a newer one than it is to fix the one i've got.
thanks

Best thing to do is visit your make/model-specific automotive forum on the web. They are more likely to have carfax accounts but you may get lucky here. What car is it?

Tell the dealer to run it. If he says no walk away.

Surreal you are the second person I know of (me being the first) that makes a dealer or private seller to provide the carfax report upfront and if they are unwilling to provide that I call that a deal breaker and walk away and spend my money elsewhere..

well these guys are MASS. tightwads on eBay and are pretty much "hands off" as they are selling it AS IS. i bid a whole 200 bucks on this car, and have only come up with one BAD lie on there. They advertise the car having 122K miles on it, but in a picture, the ODO. says 182... i asked them about it and they said, "odom is 182" i had to read that 100 times to understand what they meant. i laughed.
oh well, im going to try and talk this guy out of his 240SX because he wants waaaaayyyy too much for it.

I can't see any reason to buy a car on Ebay.
I'd never do it. NEVER But that's just me. | |

| My uncle sells classic cars on Ebay, but that a slightly different market than used cars. He has had great response, especially when people get into a bidding war for the more rare cars. | |

if i could buy it for 200 bucks, that'd be a God sent, but its on 1,450 miles away... how the hell do i go pick that thing up when my car is broken down? Luckily i've got friends.
im currently sawing away at another auction seeing if i can't get a better car for cheap.
