Outdoors Dish Network

[/rant]We changed to Dish network a while back. The digital picture is great, and the price fair, but twice nowI have gotten charged for stuff I didn't order.
Back in the winter they charged me with 4 movies totaling $15.No big deal, prolly the kids mistake.SO I unplug the phone line in the back, try to order a movie,it won't let me order since the phone line is gone, cool.
Now this month I get a bill of $125
It says I ordered HBO<Cenimax,WWE PPV,and a couple of movies.I was hot. I called, and talked it over with them, they claim I ordered them and there is no mistake. So as a result I have 4 channels of TV till the 3rd or 4th when the cable company hooks me back up.
[/rant]
Anyone else have problems like this with Dish,or am I just an easy target?I had no problems with cable for 5 years, sad mistake to change to Dish

sometimes if you order stuff even when the phone line is not in, it stores it till it is back in, then sends it.. cable can do that stuff through the cable line i think, i dunno the deal with dish though

this exact thing happened to a secratary at work. She ordered several movies and did not get billed for them until she plugged the phone line back in.

Another coworker was upset with her children for ordering movies. After I talked with her for awhile I got to the truth of the matter. IT WAS HER! when it popped the do you want to order screen she just pushed OK oblliviuos to the fact that she just ordered it. (trust me shes a dingbat.) She once dropped the mouse to her computer and broke it. After finding her a new victim i asked what happened to the old one? she then told me about breaking hers and trying to fix it. She could not get the mouse ball to stay in so she glued it in place, and for the life of her she couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work.

I have Dishnetwork and have never been charged for anything I haven't ordered. (I also have never ordered anything.) 2 plus years now.

you can check the purchase history on the smart card because thats where it's stored untill it makes contact with dishnetwork and they clear it out

The way dishnetwork is set-up is if you want to have programming added all you need do is push the buttons on the remote indicating so. As well the kids can either call dishnetwork or access the dishnetwork account on the internet and also add programming that way.

If you read the manual you'll see that you can lock the kids out of using the "Dish-on-demand" features. As well as having the on-line account access and phone accesspassword protected also.

But you don't need to pay for the premium channels till the end of the month. Ask to speak to a supervisor and have them cancelled immediately and they'll pro-rate the month. I know they will because I had it done when I had some issues with them over spamming my e-mail account for offers that were only for new customers, and when I asked that those offers be extended to me as a long time faithful customer (since dishnetwork started) they said no. So I then said fine, I want my subscription cut from an $89 a month package to a package that's $10.95 (actually theres a $5 a month surcharge for not having a minimal package) a month where I just have the local network programming of CBS, NBC, ABC, UPN, WB, and PBS.
Now once or twice a month they call up and say "sir as a long time valued customer we would like to offer you a specially priced programming package thats available only to our current customers." I tell them no thank you. But then offer them many thanks for forcing me to just take the small network package because it's helped me and my daughter not veg out in front of the mindless movies as much and actually spend more time with each other and read more books.

Oh yeah, theres also other thing that can be done with a smart card programmer and the proper software but I won't go into that as it breaks forum rules.

I've had Dishnet for years and I'll never go back. Never had a billing problem either.

See odd that you can't talk to a supervisor to have them reverse the charges.

I agree, talk to a supervisor, and get what you want done. I have had Dish for 7-8 years, and no real problems I could not resolve.

Well I have never had the phone line plugged in,so it can't be that.I have had several problems with the billing too. Most of the time I got them resolved in a few minutes on the phone, but this time they just didn't wanna talk about it
