Hello from Toronto

What a great city this is. It's clean, easy to get around, has an immaculate subway system, TONS of awesome restaurants, and friendly folks. Gotta like it. Very European.

This weekend starts the Gay Pride Week, plus with the gov't here just legalizing gay marriages, it's a bit like San Francisco or Provincetown this weekend. Oh well, to each his own.

Weather's perfect. Sunny and in the 70s. We didn't leave much time for general sightseeing, unfortunately. Just means we'll have to come back again, I guess.

Obviously the SARS scare hasn't affected travel here too much. Customs was mobbed at the airport and the flight was full. The airport itself was packed. I have yet to see one face mask and not a sole has mentioned it. All good stuff.

Hope all is well back at the ranch. I'll check in again later, eh?

What kind of wrong turn did you make to end up in Toronto? Reminds me of my wife and mother-in-law trying to find the Atlanta Farmers Market and ending up in Alabama.

Seriously though, it sounds great. Have fun!

Neat city! What's REALLY nice is eating at the restaurant on top o the CN tower. Make reservations for around sunset and TRY to get a window seat.

The food is expensive but the view is wonderful!

I subscribe to Trillin's Law: "The quality of the food is inversely proportional to the altitude of the restaurant."

How did you find the 401? what a mess, they have it hacked down to 4 lanes each way by the 427, I can't get through there (well not without sitting in traffic for hours)

Hope you enjoy your stay *cough**cough*.

There are many restaraunts there that you can enjoy (pretty much every ethnic food I can think of)

I'm usually out there about every day, but never stop to have lunch at an all out restaraunt (usually places with quick lunches), Perhaps someone who lives there can point you to a good place.

I'll give you a good restaurant. The guy who sells sausages outside the air canada center there is usually one within a block or two. Have you tried to count all the moose? good luck if you do.

Man, I wanna visit the Toronto/Ontario scene. I've heard people say the same things as you, M_Six, plus, the women from that area that I've met were absolutely awesome! YOW!

Of course I was married at the time.

That's why I go by a Phrase said by a woman

LOL!
Glad that was taken as a joke, I work in T.O. almost every day, and I am not worried about a new strain of pneumonia, as has been mentioned in other threads regarding the subject Malaria kills hundreds or more every day, (not sure on actual #'s) but this is not something I worry about while I'm there, after all you can avoid the town and still get hit by a bus, when yer times up, it's up.
