Funniest actor on the planet?
My vote would be Micheal Richards who plays Cosmo Kramer in Seinfeld.
I still can't believe how he can play that good, i don't have the words to explain it but i know that every seinfeld fan knows what im talking about. http://www.angelfire.com/ca3/kramer/images/sing.jpg
I totally loved that episode.

I would second that, but only when he's on Seinfeld, some of his other attempts haven't been so hilarious. I still watch every seinfeld rerun I can, even if I've seen it. It's comic genius. |

I dunno, I thought he was pretty good in VH1.
Funniest though..guess it depends on what a person considers funny. Physical and Cerebral humor can be two different worlds of humor altogether...
Personally love Jim Carrey ( and after seeing "the Majestic", I like him as an actor even more seeing that he can do more than physical comedy )
I like actors that have more than one Shtick, although I can appreciate someone milking what they do best. Adam Sandler was like that for a while until he did Mr. Deeds ( which was awesome IMHO ). Can't really stand his Stand-up, but his movies are great.
Dana Carvey used to be good, but seems to have a hard time getting a good role in a movie lately ( Master of Disguise was disappointing.

I like those actors too, but they are in a way the same, they all do their jokes with their mouths/face, now Micheal Richards does it with his whole body.
That's what makes him unique.

Steve Martin, no question.
Anyone remember The Man with Two Brains?

That's what makes him unique. | I have to disagree with you on that one, he is not unique in that respect, Robin Williams is another that is an active comedian, so is Steve Martin.
Also, how about Charlie Chaplin, The Three Stooge's, or even better, Laurel and Hardy?

John Candy had his moments, as did Eugene levy, but his roles/mannerism is generally the same in all roles.
Jim Carey I've been impressed with, he can actually be quite serious when he wants to be.
