What gear should I put my tranny in?

Hey, looking for a grease monkey here!
I got a suburban today. It has an automatic trans w/ OD/D/2/1 ( I think)
When I'm toolin' around town should I have it in OD or just D and then use OD on the highway? Which way will gimme better fuel mileage, b/c it's gonna be terrible either way.

Put it Overdrive unless towing then Drive .
