spots on projection screen

I have a sears 55 inch projection tv. I noticed that there are spots, not round just sort of shapes near the middle of the screen. I do not see colors all that well but I think they have a yellowish tint. These are not all that obvious unless the background is solid i.e. when it is light blue or white. Against the light blue background the areas appear to be darker blue. In many movies it is almost invisible.

It sounds like discoloration or defects in the lens. Since the whole screeen is a magnifying glass and quite soft it isnt hard to hurt them. Or dirt/dust on the projector lenses.

Yes I was going to say you might have some renegade dust bunnies residing within.

thanks for the suggestions. I have cleaned the lenses and the lenticular screen as well as the protective screen. I will give the lens a close look again. Any sugestions about which one might be the culprit?
