What a moron!!

Senator Orrin Hatch proposes that illegal music downloaders should have their PCs destroyed. What a jackass.

What's next, speeders have their vehicles destroyed after a third offense?

That's odd. Orin Hatch was supposed to be on the side of the Napster users. I know he was at least in 1999. Hmm....

Orin Hatch is weird. I'll agree with him most of the time and then he'll pull something crazy like this and make me question his sanity. A lot of politicians are like that.

Doesn't bode well for rapists with that logic, does it?

Cheers

@ Mick

That would be a great idea really. No, about the rapists, not the song dlers.

And my question is, what does he mean by 'destroy'? Erase the HD? Corrupt the BIOS? Ignite Nitrous inside the processor? (that would be funny, in the middle of a power surge the processor explodes, or explodes when you overclock too much)

Yeah right. Kind of like how Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst went on tour to promote the use of Napster, and right when everyone was having their songs removed, you couldn't find a Limp Bizkit song.

Fred Durst is the CEO or some crazyness at Interscope. If he wanted his songs on Napster, they would have been there.

The big problem with this is that it would happen without a trial. Who would decide that you did this and should be punished? How would they be sure that the PC was even in the US? And we elect these schmucks that dont even understand the most basic fundimentals of our legal system. Sad.

Senator Orrin Hatch is a wacko, IMHO.

But big business loves a wacko they can "pocket".

I think he's been bought and paid for.
