Things that haven't changed in a 100 years

And I am not talking of low tech stuff like tooth brushes or combs or shirts or cigarettes/cigars.

Even cars have not basically changed. Still run on 4 rubber wheels, with brake/gas pedals and a round steering. Seats in front and back.

Sure, there have been improvements and such. But basically all the same. Some new stuff is out like the Athlon 3000 CPU. But amonst stuff that was present in 1903 and is present in 2003, not much has changed.

Which is surprising given the leaps and bounds by which technology and manufacturing technology has evolved.

Books! It's still better to read a real paper book than dots on a computer screen.

Not too many musical instruments have changed in the last 100 years.

I think the flush toilet is about 100 years old.

We still use wooden tables.

Most ofus stay on the ground for most of our lives.

People still look at the stars and wonder what it's like up there (although a choice few now know).

Insurance companies are still a pain in the arse and biased as h***.

People still read adventure novels.

Kids are still disrespectful, rebelious, and unpatriotic (the stereotype that is). The only thing that haschanged is that now the music really IS deplorable. *Dodges incoming tomato*

Some people STILL can't spell potatoe! (no offense Dan)

The phone system still sucks. Only now it's more expensive.

Standard Oil=Microsoft???

People still breathe air.

Ahh., TAXES!!

Taxes have changed.

We didn't have income taxes 100 years ago. At least that's what I hear. May not be true.
