It's pilonidal cyst, BTW, and the cavities they leave can be a real problem, unless they are heal;ed up correctly.
So the packing is essential, regardless of how much it hurts.
Where are they being repacked? At home, or in the physician's office? If at the office, you may be lucky enough to be able to get nitrous oxide, which can be very good to help relieve pain
during the re-packing procedure.
I agree with Sweet - ask the physician for better pain control. And avoid alcohol - it actually slows up the healing process.
