Where to buy music?

I don't buy a lot of CDs but always seem to end up buying from Amazon. However, for what I buy, mostly classical, they seem pricey. I've also purchased locally from Barnes & Noble but their selection is very limited.

Any suggestions for other places to shop for CDs, online or B&M?

Try Deepdiscountcd.com. I've found their prices and service to be good. Selection was OK, not a lot of obscure stuff.

I always find that classical music is priced below that of more popular music. In my part of the country Circuit City has the best prices overall on music CD's. The selection is not the largest though.

I think Classical music prices vary much, much more than pop music. A high end recording may run $20-30, where teeny bopper music cannot command that kind of price.

I have found good prices in Circuit City but you simply can't expect to walk in there and find anything specific.

Most of the small "mom and pop" music shops have an extensive catalog listing and can special order most anything you need.

I join BMG for their 11 free Cds offers. Cancel after buying one.

Then wait a few weeks and they send you the offer again.

That's the way I built up my collection but choices for classical may be limited.

Or be brave and go to the City on a saturday and there are millions of deep discount CD stores with like 128,985,899,000 CDs in stock.
