recovering vhs tapes

10 years ago my mom made a tape of the important news events of that time. Well this morning my sister was transfering home videos from our 8 mm to vhs and somehow managed to find that new tape and tape over it. Is there anyway at all that we can recover what has been taped over??????

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with VHS being an analog medium, once the frames are recorded over, they can not be recovered.
