Anyone been to Japan?

Hey I was wondering what Japan was like. My friend has invited one of my other friends and me to go to Japan with him at the end of the summer. I've been having a tough time deciding to go or not because first off I was going to use my money to build a new computer. Keep in mind that I am 16 and don't have much money The other problem is I already went am going to an academic bowl thing for a week this summer so that is my "vacation" for my job. To go to Japan I would have to quit my job because they would not let me take 2 vacations in the summer.

So tell me about your trips to Japan and particularly Tokyo which is where I would be staying.

No way would I go to Japan on a budget---its just not possible---its been 15 years since ive been there and Tokyo is one of the most expensive citys in the world---im not trying to discourage you but id check out what it will cost to do what you want before you go---food costs alone are unreal unless you are fond of noodles and rice...

What kind of racist stereotyping nonsense is that?

I'd take the trip, go outside the US, see what the world is like. The knowledge and experience gained will be yours for your lifetime. The Japanese culture is very interesting and very different from the US, and has a lot to offer you.

Take the trip.

For the cost of a trip to Tokyo you could buy a REALLLLY nice PC.

Hmm, a few days starving in Tokyo, or a nice shiny new screamer PC.

I'd personally take the trip (if it can be afforded)

Why? because this might be once in a life time opportunity to visit another country and the memories won't be more or less outdated after 6months like a computer will be.

Well my parents would probably give me money for food. Also, I would be staying with my friend's aunt so she would probably cook for us most of the time.
