Outdoors URGENT! How to TURN OFF SUBTITLES?!!

This is almost becoming annoying...

I just bought an Apex Digital AD-500 DVD Player. Problem is, I CANNOT turn off the subtitles! The manual only explains how to switch languages.

You would think that since most people prefer not to have subtitles, turning them off would be a lot more convenient.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Try the Apex forum:

A quick glance in the forum showed you are not the only one.
I am afraid you have to live with it. Maybe there's a firmware update??

I see those player go for under $90, so don't expect to much. But I hope this one is upgradeable by CD-R. Most players can but this one doesn't seemed too. If it could there must be a firmware update somewhere, from Apex or a hackedversion.

Here some links google found (no much help though):

I purchased it as a "backup"/extra player, more or less. Luckily, I found that the subtitles options were hidden on the specific DVD.
