Dryer question...quick please

The starter switch on my Kenmore dryer has gone up (at least I am pretty sure), and it will be a few days before I can order the exact part needed. However, I found a fairly close temporary replica at Radioshack. Here are the specs:
original: 10amps@125volts and 5amps@250volts
temporary: 10amps@125volts and 6amps@250volts

Well, will it work? Can the extra amp screw anything up in the dryer? Thanks

ILC

If it will work, fit. no propblem. the amp rating (carrying capacity)on the replacement is higher than the old one, this rating is how much current it will handle. think of it this way a gallon bucket will with no problem hold three quarts,

Wait, what is the difference between a switch and a relay? At the Kenmore website, the button is described as a relay. Is there a difference?

A switch is a mechanical device , manualy operated, like switches on the lights or all over your car. you or a device moves or pushed them. for instance the door safty, when you open the door it opens to shut down, matter of safety, a relay however is normaly a switch that is operated thru a coil/magnet by electricity from another source
a switch will have only two terminals for wires, a relay however will have several,

This is a great site that helped me in the past. Fyxxer32 gave it to me and it has saved me hundreds in repair costs.

They have a forum here as well where my question was answered pretty quickly:
