Good STep in War on Terror

We're setting our sights on Hezbollah. Read the article here.
I've been waiting for this to finally come to fruition. If we can't forsee each and every method a terrorist might use to strike the US or its allies, then the only effect way of preventing terrorist acts is to eliminate the terrorists. Lebanon main export to the world is terrorism, and Syria harbors plenty as well. This is just the first step though. Syria and Lebanon won't bow to the pressure. Or they will just do what Arafat did: arrest the militants but let them out the back door of the prison. They don't respect us. So we will eventually have to go in there and do the job ourselves. While we're at it, we need to eradicate Hamas, Al Aqsa and Arafat's Fatah movement as well, since we won't let Israel go at it full force.

In the end, the US and the rest of the world will be safer, with very few tears shed for exterminated little bugs that infest the planet. In fact it would probably bring along Israeli-Palestinian peace much more quickly than any "land for peace" deal, all of which have failed or have not even gotten off the ground.

VICTORY BEFORE PEACE!!!!!

I take it by your statement you mean that al queda is just as strong and capable as ever? Or did you think that "negotiating" with them and trying to bridge some cultural gap so that they don't hate us would have done a better job? How many terror strikes have occured in the US since 9/11?

Remember that groups like Hamas only attack Israel. I doubt they have the motivation and resources to attack us, especially on our soil.
If an American is killed it's collateral damage, normally they are in Israel. (Which still isn't a good thing)
I guess fighting terror with terror isn't such a good thing, eh?

Their are plenty of terrorist groups in Africa and South America but I doubt we'll even think about touching them. Remember what happened last time we went into Africa? It could have been a lot worse, we got away very lucky in the last mission.

My comment regards the attention deficite nature of our policies against terrorism. We think we are fighting terrorism by attacking Afghanistan. Then we move on to Iraq, and virtually abandon Afghanistan - leaving it so the Taliban are know returning. Now we are moving on to other areas. Al Qaeda is far from defeated.

MTA,

Afghanistan is anything but abandoned. We are actively tracking Al Qaeda and Taliban and you see the unfortunate news every so often when we lose a service member there. We have shifted our focus to rebuilding the country, but Afghanistan was already a bombed out hell hole before we took out the Taliban, it will take decades to make it remotely civilized if the Afghans are willing to stop their in fighting. The country has some very beautiful parts, but the people are quite ugly to each other. If they would ever decide to work together Afghanistan could be a nice place to live and visit.

Terror springs from injustice. Solve the injustice and you can kill terror. But trying to ‘fight’ terror is only going to make it grow and increase, pathetic, but if it makes you happy…

Unfortunately sometimes it springs from what the group perceives as 'injustice' if their definition conflicts with other definition... well then its only injustice in the eyes of one.

Isreal should of never existed in the eyes of some.. I'm gonna make a crazy guess that the israelites would disagree

I'm sure Al Quaeda believs 9/11 was for a 'just' cause
