Who carries the morgage?

I'm interested in a house that has been trashed but would like to find out some things about it. I have found out the owners name and it looks like they are ~$15K behind on payments and the payments are 2500 a month. I found the value but I can't seem to find who they have it financed through.

Don't know how Fla. works, but you might be able to go to your county clerks office and do some research on it based on the address.
It might have that info in the deed record for the property.
Or you might try your tax appraisal district office too.
Is the property vacant?

County abstract office is actually what I believe you are looking for, they keep track of who owns what and what if any liens are on it. My grandmonther used to do this, I remember seeing her lugging these HUGE books doing research before property was sold. And she always knew who took out a second mortgage.

Check with the county clerk, I think all taxes are sent to the county clerk. Houses where that taxes are not paid are placed a lein against and then sold, have to pay the back taxes also.Tax records are public record where I am and are kept at the county court house.
Has the property gone into foreclosure?
