Car Insurance Question
I was wondering whether anyone over here could help me out...
Last week I had an accident with my Uncle's car, the car didn't have collision insurance, so he won't get any money back. One of my friend's told me that my insurance would cover it (provided that I prove that my car was in for servicing, which it was).
Anyone know if this is true?

Yeah, I think they are the ones who would give you the most accurate info about it.

I did and they said no which is why I posted here. I was curious to see if such a policy even existed for anybody because they told me that insurance companies don't have such a policy.

It might be cheaper to just fix the car in the long run, You know how insurance companies are with surtaxes and all.

It depends on the laws of your state. I would call a couple of insurance agencies to see what they say and try calling a local insurance agent to see what they have to say. Also, you can call a accident lawyer and see if he could tell you over the phone. If he says yes and the insurance company says no, then you might need to go to court. Doing so may or may not be beneficial.

Generally, the liability coverage extends to anything you're in - but the vehicle owners's policy is primary, yours only kicks in if that wasn't enough.
However collision coverage usually does NOT extend, except in the case of rental cars.
Read the policy yourself, though. Or get a lawyer to check it. Remember that an insurance rep's job is to minimize their expenses, NOT to make sure you get what you paid for!
