Tech guitar tuning help

Hey all, I know there are a few guitarists around here.
Um I can't hear well enough to use those mouth peice tuners to tune my daughters guitar. I tried but I think its still painfully out of tune.

So what I want to know if thier is some sort of digital or anolog readout thing that I can match it up with to tune the guitar with visually and not by hearing.

Something perfereable realitively inexpensive.

Planning to hopefully get some lessons for her. She got this little cute child size real guitar for her birthday today from her grandparents.

I managed to figure out E, F, G to teach her on the first page. hehehe and go from there. just the tuning part im gonna have problems with.

The way it always was with me, I always had someone else tune my instruments for me way back when I played, mostly the alto sax. loved the feel of those tunes.

Anyhow suggestions?

You can get a guitar tuner that shows when the string is in tune for about 15 bucks. Most use LCD needle or LED lights or both.
Here's a Korg one:

hmmm maybe i should say its an aucostic guitar and not an amplified one. or does that not make a difference with that one?

has 6 strings altogether and top 3 are steel and the bottom 3 are nylon.

Neo -- That doesn't matter. You can still tune with most tuners. They have a microphone to pick up the notes, and tell you the pitch.

Not sure if would work with an accoustic. Might be okay to use until you buy a real tuner http://www.skanky.f9.co.uk/FT.htm

Neo maybe you can get your man to tune it up for her if ya can't hear the one online.Until you can get a tuner.
The free online lessons I posted are awesome. They even give a MP3 sample of what it is supposed to sound like played correctly.

Good luck

Cool BC, ya i can ask him I just trying not to. :sigh:
I understand the concept of tuning so maybe can sit down iwth sheli and teach her and tell her that they need to sound exact same to be tuned.

Or is that too much to ask for of a 9 year old?

Coll will have her look at the online lessons. She did get a book as well. So can use them all.

See what happens.
