France had its Absinthe, which was made with wormwood and anise. The latter being a herb related to the carrot.
Toulouse-lautrec knew it well and perhaps Renoir.
Yet what wine has had the creative potenial of good American ThunderBird ?
What wondrous substance was this precious libation derived ?
Surely more favored than the carrot or its herbal bad relation.
Yet affectionados rarely mention its supple strength in their arrogant pretence of rarer goodness. Yet goodness was never a rarity with ThunderBird which made a "statement" all could understand.
Oenophiles pretend to favor the Chordonney in deference to its Gallic heritage yet forget the body of America's own robust contributution.
Did Bukowski drink Chardonney or ThunderBird in his creative production ?
Yes, the Merlot and the Cab, have their moments of splendor. Yet can one compare to the consistent presence of a glass or bottle or two bottles of ThunderBird .
Any comments about this wine, which deservedly is renown , while lessor "wines" can only hope to achieve the status of this Classic American wine.
Many have "listened" as it spoke and can speak of it with their own appeciative words.
For those who've who haven't allowed it to introduce itself, try a bottle or two tonite or tomorrow.
Or Maybe, One man's classic is another man's bilge water?
Of course for the discriminating palet, leaving it in the paper bag while drinking it may be a selling point. The screw cap for the occassional sipper another. Antifreeze for your car, in a pinch? Of course I doubt many Thunderbird Efficianados have cars.... or teeth so I guess you could say it saves on Dentist bills
My pops owns a couple convienence stores, and you wouldn't believe it, but MadDog (or is it MadDOOOG) is the Number 1 stolen item in all of the stores. I think it's because the slim bottle size makes it easy to hide.
Or maybe that smooth flavor is just too irresistable.
