Just caught this on another forum, and thought that it was sooo... Right (wrong?)?

I wrote this for another thread ages ago, but it's probably relevant again:-
Advanced Iraqi Flamewarring Tutorial
1. Insulting terms. It's not worth referring to people at all unless you can use an insult. Peacenik and Warmonger are two particularly useful ones. Always attack the person, not what he/shes saying.
2. Straw Man. Get the jump on your opponents by speaking for them. Sentences like of course, liberals think we should let all Iraqi babies die in the streets are very desirable. Can be combined with part 1, for greater effect.
3. Oversimplification. eg. The war is all about oil or conversely This war is just because Saddam is evil etc. etc.
4. Superiority. If you cant argue, or just have no fact to base your opinion on, the best way to hide this is to claim the high ground. Naturally, people who believe that are nave is a good catch-all phrase. Advanced flamers can take this further and combine it with parts 1,2 and 3. Trendy liberal cowards think the war is only about oil. Of course grown ups know better. Inexperienced flamers may want to wear protective gear for this one.
5. Godwin. Nazism has to be mentioned by the 20th post or the world will come to an end.
6. Exaggeration. The opponent will look silly if you repeat what he/she said with hyperbole. Lets try a genuine example here - Quote:- I do not believe that this action is worth one American life. Advanced flamer version:- So youre saying screw the brown skins their holocaust isn't worth one good ol' white boy.
7. Racism. You will have been told by nave PC liberals that racism and stereotyping are a bad thing. This is an evil lie spread about by the smelly French.
8. Republican/Democrat. If youre a Republican, everything left wing is wrong. If youre a Democrat, everything right wing is wrong. Knowing this can make flaming a doddle, and again save you precious brainpower. This also applies to pro-war, anti-war arguments (although this isnt actually a left wing/right wing issue, but lets not split hairs)
9. Errors. If you can prove your opponent has made one mistake, then everything else he/she said is clearly wrong.

Now, doesn't it fell better to know the rules of flaming??
