Systems Leg pains. Any suggestions?

I was reffing a soccer game the other day and began to get sharp pains in my legs. I also went running this evening and the pain returned.

The pains were about 6 inches up from my heel and on the inside of my legs, but not on my calf muscles. The area was swollen as well. The area was about 3 inches in length and an inch wide. I don't think that it's shin splints because it doesn't really get better with rest and stretching didn't help it either. (Partly because I couldn't find a way to stretch that area of my leg.)

Any ideas as to what is causing this and any recommendations on how to solve them?

Sounds like the splints to me. Keep stretching them and ice them down. Especially after exercise.

Bannanas, yup, that is what I did, don't ask me why it does, but eat some bannanas, at least one during the pain time and a little later eat a second one.

Also crushed up asprin mixed into a paste and rubbed onto the area will give you some relief.

Icy hot works realy well too. that is if you don't mind the smell. I use that all the time, have a few tubes of that floating around the house.

I also agree with seeing a doc about it seince you are a soccer player. could be a early sign of something else.
